Margarita Hanlon MA, MICHT, ITEC, Dip.Col.T.S

I have been a qualified therapist for 18 years and trained in CranioSacral Therapy, Colour Therapy, Spiritual Healing, Process Acupressure, Aromatherapy/Therapuetic Massage, Reflexology and Stress Management. I often mix different therapies to suit the needs of the individual. I have also attended many self-help workshops and continue to learn and extend my practice.
I believe in the body as an intelligence in itself and that most diseases can be helped. I also see the human as an integration of the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual so that sometimes more than one of these aspects needs help. The client’s choice to come for treatment is often the beginning of their journey to wellness and I still feel privileged to help facilitate this road to health.

CranioSacral Therapy
I trained with the Upledger Institute, Scotland and studied both CranioSacral Therapy and Somato Emotional Release.
What can it help? CranioSacral Therapy is a deeply relaxing light touch therapy that helps a wide range of problems, even those that have baffled conventional medical practitioners. Some common problems are: back pain, sciatica, low energy, migraines, jaw (TMJ) problems, neuralgia, arthritis. Children and babies respond very well to treatments.
Somato Emotional Release can be integrated with CST or as a therapy in itself. Through bodywork and dialogue (if appropriate) it is possible to reveal stuck issues that have become embedded in the body sometimes the cause of the problem. Access to the root cause can often bring about amazing results.
How are you treated? Clients lay fully clothed on a treatment couch and initial testing begins with checking the craniosacral rhythm. This helps to clarify any blocks in the body and assess the appropriate treatment. Gentle touch, using specific techniques are applied to help release these blocks. Usually, the client experiences a deeply relaxed state.
Treatments last approximately one hour.

Aromatherapy Massage/Therapeutic Massage
I often need to combine both of these different kinds of massage to suit the needs of the client.
Aromatherapy uses essential oils, blended with a vegetable carrier oil to produce lovely aromas, acting as a healing agent. This also encourages the regeneration of skin growth and is good for post-operative scar tissue apart from the damage to muscles. Aromatherapy tends towards more gentle massage, optimizing the healing process to promote relaxation and freedom from stress. It also helps many physical problems such as : back pain, sinusitis, menopausal symptoms, arthritis etc.
Therapeutic Massage. Using a blend of oils, it also helps muscular problems and specific ailments that may need a more firm pressure. Also relaxing, this can be combined with the Aromatherapy Massage.

Colour Therapy
I have developed my own form of treatment combining the use of colour with hands on spiritual healing. Deeply relaxing and nurturing, healing is carried out on the whole body with particular attention to the chakras. The chakras are invisible, coloured vortexes of energy emanating from the body, which very easily become out of balance indicating a potential for disease. Initial testing will often highlight problem areas.
Why colour?
Colours have individual frequencies which harmonise with various organs and parts of the body. By specifically placing coloured silks and/or crystals on blocked areas and using hands on healing, the body also responds by helping to bring itself back to balance and wellness.
Sometimes colours to wear, colour breathing exercises are recommended to help the healing process after treatment.
What can it help?
Anything can be helped. As it is so non-intrusive and gentle serious diseases such as cancer and muscle wasting diseases can be helped and supported as well as an aid to convalescents.
Clients lay fully clothed on a treatment couch in a warm and relaxing environment.
Treatments last approximately 1 hour.
